This technical pole-with-pick provides some additional security when approaching and descending "no fall" ski lines, but should be used in conjunction with a lightweight axe. It's intended for experienced ski-mountaineers, with sufficient skill to safely and confidently ski around while carrying a sharpened pick.
The low-profile design negates the need to remove and replace the self-arrest pick portion when approaching and leaving steep climbs and descents. Must be used with the pick protector (included) when not being used, to avoid personal injury.
